Jari started in 2022 as data engineer at Blenddata and is also responsible for all marketing related processes. Lifelong learning and broad personal development are topics that drive him. The reason he started working at Blenddata is because learning and personal development are ingrained in the company culture. The fact that he could develop his data engineering and marketing skills was a big plus.
Jari has experience within the Microsoft Azure domain where he is able to create scalable and manageable data infrastructure. Furthermore, he knows how to use several modern data stack tools like terraform, Dagster, DBT and Airbyte. Like most data blenders he is a big fan of test-driven development and clean code.
When Jari is not at work he likes to mix or produce fast paced techno. If you’re into Italian home cooked fine dining, he’ll gladly invite you over to taste one of his pastas. To counter his love for food Jari likes to walk, run or cycle through the natural surroundings in Eindhoven.
Karlijn started working as the first employee at Blenddata in October 2021 for one day a week. She was looking for a job next to, and in the direction of her studies. She started at Blenddata because she wanted to work within a young and dynamic company where she could apply her knowledge and do what she likes.
She is mainly involved in developing dashboards using SQL. Karlijn is also the designated person when something needs to be organized such as team vacations and other events.
“The best thing about working at Blenddata is the atmosphere and that you can go to anyone for feedback, but also that everyone is eager to move forward. Whereas other companies are sometimes more set in their ways, Blenddata is constantly working on improving and optimizing processes to which employees can contribute.”
Karlijn gains energy from learning new things, helping other people and bringing happiness to those around her. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and playing sports such as tennis, running and boxing. In the future she would like to get a master's degree with a combination of business and IT, to learn how to incorporate both the technical and business aspects in what she develops.
Roel is one of the co-founders of Blenddata, he has been with the company since the first lines of code were written for the first customer. Roel is a “jack of all trades”. When he is not leading a project at a customer, he will be occupied with the day-to-day business at Blenddata: following up on a sales lead, writing up a portfolio, or making sure the fridge is stocked up.
Over the years, working at a diverse set of companies within the data domain, Roel noticed he wanted to do things differently, and entered the stage: Blenddata, a place to roll out his own vision. Data Science sometimes presents complex problems for which data engineering can provide a simple solution. Roel noticed that customers struggle to keep their data organized. Therefore, he wants to help companies collect their distributed data and turn it into valuable business insights. In short, create simple solutions with high value.
Outside working hours, you will find Roel on his race- or mountain bike. He is someone who enjoys the little things in life. If time allows, it’s quite possible that you will find him in the kitchen. Furthermore, he is interested in architecture, art and design.
During his master's, Lars noticed that many companies joined the data science hype without knowing that a strong data fundament is required for creating value out of data. After his master’s he started looking for a job where he could help such companies and learn by practice, but he was not able to find the right one… and so it happened: Together with Vincent and Roel, Blenddata was founded!
Lars is one of the most experienced lead engineers at Blenddata, he has experience with creating sound data engineering solutions which help customers to turn data into valuable business knowledge. Ultimately, Lars believes the optimal developer experience is the key to success by adding more value in less time, allowing a team to work as efficiently as possible. Finding the right tools and methodologies to reach this goal is important to him.
During working hours, Lars is always occupied with improving the atmosphere at the office. Before or after work you can find Lars on his racing bike. Both on and off work, Lars is an entertainer. During the weekends, you will find him entertaining the crowd as a DJ. Lars also takes great interest in everything entrepreneurial and IT related, and he will be happy to share his passion with you!
In October 2022, Ward joined Blenddata, bringing with him an entrepreneurial mindset and a strong desire to create valuable products. His ambitions aligned perfectly with those of Blenddata, as he was seeking a pleasant and enjoyable working environment where equality and individuality where are valued, allowing everyone to contribute to the company's vision.
In addition to his expertise in data engineering, Ward has extensive experience in user-centered design and UX. Leveraging his knowledge, he strives to create user experiences that empower individuals and put them in control of the products we deliver. One aspect at Blenddata that particularly resonates with Ward at Blenddata is for example the inclusive nature of brainstorming sessions, where all ideas are given equal consideration and no suggestion is dismissed.
When we delve into Ward's personal life, we find that his passion for creation extends beyond the workplace—he enjoys shooting and editing movies. Channeling his creativity into these projects serves as a great source of energy and inspiration for Ward. If there's one thing that defines Ward, it's his eagerness to live life to the fullest by approaching things from a unique perspective.
Jeroen joined Blenddata in February 2022 as one of the company’s first employees. The reason he joined Blenddata is because of the cohesive culture and mentality, but also because he gets a chance to create clean and maintainable solutions, unlike other companies that often prioritize feature delivery.
Within Blenddata, Jeroen works on optimizing the developer cycle for the Data Engineers by designing and automating the workflow, as well as enhancing infrastructure. He also sets up platforms for our clients through DevOps.
With 15 years of programming experience, Jeroen's hobby has become his profession. In his spare time, he also enjoys gaming and ballroom dancing with his fiancée. He gets energy from "firefighting": solving problems. He would like to learn even more about the consulting profession, which makes Blenddata an ideal match for him as he has the ambition to grow into a Tech lead.
Levy has been working as a work student at Blenddata since January 2023. He joined Blenddata because he already knew some colleagues and sought an organization that prioritizes his professional development.
Having completed his Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Levy is currently working on his master’s degree in Data Science for Business and Entrepreneurship. The choice of Data Science was not difficult for him. As a member of a student team, he developed a "bluejay" drone that can guide people outside in case of emergency which sparked his interest in diving deeper into the field of data.
Within Blenddata, Levy is mainly involved in internal projects with a focus on new technologies such as DBT , a new way of data transformation. He also did a project together with Karlijn in the field of BI and set up a large code base that everyone can use.
What Levy appreciates most about working at Blenddata is the accessible culture and the opportunity to continuously learn. His energy comes from the process of discovering, using and implementing new technology and seeing the results of that. Cooking with friends is Levy‘ s biggest hobby, but he also enjoys playing guitar and running.
As one of the co-founders, Vincent has been with Blenddata since 2021 when Blenddata was still operating ‘under-the-radar’. Now that Blenddata has grown into a "full-fledged" Data Engineering consultancy, Vincent is responsible for finance related processes and takes the lead in multiple projects. Vincent, together with Lars and Roel, saw an opportunity. A significant demand for data science services, but a lack of solid data infrastructure within the market. The answer: Blenddata.
Vincent is an experienced project manager and works hard to ensure a complete overview of tools and technologies within the data engineering landscape which can be utilized by Blenddata. Not only within the data engineering domain but also in general, Vincent is dedicated to have a wide range of knowledge on every subject of interest to him.
When Vincent is not at work, you will find him on his mountain bike, race bike, trail running or training for a marathon, a sportsman in heart and soul. Coding does not stop at work, home automation keeps his practice sharp and takes away the burden of daily household chores. For Vincent standing still is going backwards, both personally and professionally.
